Sparkling headpiece By LouGuul ?√ßhen someone hears about the ?╟úFolies de Paris,?╟╓?╟╓ their re- sponses usually fall into three major categories: a) Are you going to Vegas?; b) Hey, you?╟╓re going to see that nudie show!!; and c) The what? An extravaganza like the Folies de Paris is a rarity on the East imm Coast, Hence, many persons have no idea what goes oh during one of these shows. Are all of the girls naked? (No,) Is there singing and dancing? (Yes.) Are the acts varied? (Very.) Is it colorful? (Brightly.) Does it really feature acrobats? (Terrific ones.) Is it strictly for adults? (Not really.) It?╟╓s esti- mated ^h at Dallas and Charles Ger- son, owners of the Latin Casino, spent more than $250,000 to bring the Folies to this area, and every penny of that investment can be seen on the stage. / The 90-minute show features 50 singers and dancers, four major production numbers (the first one contains four costume changes), and talented supporting acts such as The r Great Tqmsoni (a Polish magician who comes on stage with a black shoe on his right foot and a brown one on his left and bills himself as ?╟úThe Warsaw Wizard!?╟Ñ) and the amazing Argentinian Gauchos (three Buenos Aires men who use whirling bolas, jingling spurs, and flashing knives in their exciting trick rou- tine). Host of the show?╟╓s publicity, how- ever, has revolved around its limited topless routines in some production numbers. After first opening, the Folies de Paris faced some problems from the state Alco- holic Beverage Commission because of the nudity in a place serving liq- uor.
