PROGRAM COMMITTEE REPORT^
SEPTEMBER, 2005
The Program Committee met during the summer on July 19th. During this meeting program chairmen had a lengthy discussion about what the chapter’s programs should be as they relate to the National Program Initiatives. The discussion centered on some of the following concepts:
-
Making sure that all committees are aware of the criteria for winning Regional and National chapter awards in all of the categories. This would help us to focus our direction and to organize our activities so that they would meet the criteria.
Participating in more activities that make the community aware of our chapter’s commitment to Women’s Health Initiatives: cancer, heart disease, hypertension, diet
-
Accessing the skills of the health resource persons in our chapter.
We need to provide workshops for our chapter members and for the community.
-
Working “smarter and not harder”, by combining committees ’
activities and resources., e g. Founders’ Day combined with a Humanities program centered on Black History; A Black Family-Thanksgiving Baskets-Volunteer Day
Committee chairpersons were asked to meet with their committees to think-tank some combined committee activities and to establish some tentative dates for those activities.
The Program Chairman is requesting that committee chairs submit the dates of their proposed activities to her by Monday, September 26^. We would like to present the Program for 2005-2006(September to September) at the next general meeting.
