Your letter August 12 File 7334 In connection with proposed Installation of 24** water main on Charleston Boulevard. There are several things to he considered in doefte trmhirniSnlg:h w hSe?t hSeoru thth es idper opgof seCdh arlliense tosnh.o uldI nb ef avionrs taofl led installing the line on the North side are: m l% 1. When we were installing the 12** main to serve Boulder Addition, we set a 12*' cross on the North side of Charleston Boulevard at Main Street in anticipation of this new line coming down Charleston. 2. I assume we will eventually have to furnish water to Woodland Park Addition and if the line were installed on the South side we would have to cut across the Boulevard anyway. 3. There are numerous cottonwood trees along the South side on Charleston between the Hospital and Railroad tracks, the roots of which would probably make it difficult to in trench for the pipe line. In favor of installing the line on the South side are: 1. It would avoid the necessity of cutting the new highway at the curve just West of the Hospital. 2. The setter main installed about 2 feet North of center line of highway and several service' connections take off to the North to serve the Hospital and others. As these service lines come in at grade, our water main would have to avoid them. This difficulty would be eliminated if line were installed on South side. 3. County and City officials with whom we have discussed the subject are in favor of installation on South side of Charleston.
