    ORDINANCE NO. 407 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 11 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE #306 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AND ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE TO SAFEGUARD LIFE AND PROPERTY BY REGULATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSPECTION OF ELECTRIC WIRING, DEVICES, APPLIANCES AND EQUIPMENT; CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY ELECTRI­CIAN AND PRESCRIBING HIS AUTHORITY AND DUTIES REQUIRING THAT NO ELECTRIC WIRING DEVICES, APPLIANCES OR EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHOUT FIRST SECURING A PERMIT THEREFOR; CREATING A BOARD OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS; PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF PERSON, FIRMS AND CORPORATIONS ENGAGING IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR EM­PLOYING ELECTRICIANS TO OBTAIN ELECTRICAL WORK; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CON­TRACTING OR TO UNDERTAKE THE EXECUTION OF ELECTRICAL WORK WITHOUT A LICENSE, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED; MAK­ING IT UNLAWFUL TO SELL AT RETAIL CERTAIN ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS UNLESS SUCH PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITY ELECTRICIAN, AND NATIONAL BOARD OF UNDERWRITERS, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEAL­ING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH." The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 11 of the Electrical code as adopted by Ordinance #306 of the City of Las Vegas is hereby amended to read as follows: FEE SCHEDULE 20 outlets including water heaters, ranges and space heaters (on new buildings or remodeling old buildings). ......................3.00 All over 20 outlets, per outlet......................15 Motors, 1 H.P. or less............................2.00 Each additional H. P...............................25 Neon electrical signs, advertising..................3.00 First 10 transformers, each. ........... .2.00 Each additional transformer. .......................1.00 Each circuit of incandescent lamps ..... ....... 1.00 Neon lighting, inside.......... 2.00 Plus each foot of tubing..................... . .01 Original contractor hanging fixtures, each............10 Sub-contractor hanging fixtures, each. ............ 2.00 Plus each fixture............................. .10 Ranges, water heaters, space heaters installed separately...................................2.00 Coolers........................................2.00 Festoon lighting, up to 3000 watts .................2.00 Plus each additional 1000 watts. . .................1.00 Temporary Permit for use of lights and/or motors in building under course of construction shall be issued to cover duration of construction only .. 2.00 Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication as in the next section provided. Section 3. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its final reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas. The above and foregoing Ordinance was first proposed and read by title to the Board of Commissioners on the 7th day of March , 1950, and referred to the following committee composed of Commissioners Moore and Whipple for recommendation; thereafter the said committee reported favorably on said ordinance on the 22nd day of March, 1950, which was the regular meeting of said Board of Commissioners; that at said regular meeting held on the 22nd day of March____, 1950. the proposed Ordinance was read in full to the Board of City Commissioners as first introduced and adopted by the following vote: Voting "Aye": Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor Voting "Nay": None Absent: None APPROVED: S/ E.
