I agree.Chat with Chic A Report from Washington FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CONTACT: Mike Miller May 6, 1987 (202) 224-6244 By U.S. SENATOR CHIC HECHT Washington, D.C. -- On Tuesday, April 28, I met with Mr. and Mrs. Dick Pierce of Reno in my Washington office. Dick is the owner of Dick Pierce and Company Security in Reno, and he had some good news for me. Dick took part in a small business conference held by my office in Reno, the aim of which was to teach small businessmen and entrepreneurs the most effective ways to apply for and obtain contracts with government agencies -- such as the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, and the General Services Agency. Dick told me that, as a direct result of the information he received at this conference, his firm has obtained a contract to provide security at the Hawthorne Munitions Depot. His company has expanded, and has now doubled in size with nearly 250 employees. Dick's firm is now in the second year of a five-year contract with the government, and he encouraged me to continue the conference program so that other Nevada entrepreneurs might share his success . I applaud Dick for his accomplishments, and I encourage other interested small business people in Nevada who might be interested in taking part in a similar conference to contact any of my state offices.
