    Las Vegas, Nevada February 9, 1942. Mr. E. E. Bennett: Referring to your letter of January 28, 1942, addressed to Mr. Spencer, concerning an article by Mr. Clarence M. Hawkins, of the Auburn Bar, with respect to ownership of water in California and Nevada, I am enclosing herewith copy of letter just received from Roy W. Stoddard, Special Assis­tant to the Attorney General, which is in response to my letter of January 30th, addressed to Mr. Jack Halley, Deputy U. S. Attorney of Nevada, with copies to you and Mr. Spencer, which letter speaks for itself. I have not as yet digested the Briefs that were sent to me by Mr. Stoddard.
