I agree.SAWARA-NEVADA CORPORATION /_ 0. Box 750 LAS VEGAS, NEVADA 89109 HERB MCDONALD vice -president -pub lie relations January 8, 1969 at ?*<_** Mr. Robert A. Maheu Chief Executive Officer for Howard Hughes FRONTIER HOTEL 3120 Las Vegas Boulevard South Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Bob: As you know, I am again involved in the Sustaining Member ship Program for our Boulder Dam Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, with the specific assignment of the casinos and executives. Because of your leadership in last year's campaign, we were able to produce a $1, 000.00 donation from each of the Hughes'owned hotels -~ the Desert Inn, Sands and Frontier Hotels, for a total of $3, 000. 00. This, incidentally, is what the Sahara-Nevada Corporation did for the Sahara, Thunderbird and Mint Hotels. We have a check from the Sahara-Nevada Corporation in the amount of $5, 000. 00 for their 1969 contribution and would hope that with your special attention we might repeat the three $1, 000.00 contributions and, in addition, give consideration to a similar amount from the Castaways and Silver Slipper. Our Council has grown substantially in the last four years in the number of boys served -- the related increase in our operating budget is thereby reflected in the increased need for funds. I know of your concern and support of Scouting and will look forward to your response. Very sincerely, herb Mcdonald Vice President HMcD/ac 702-735-0/44 JAN 10'1969 Hotel Sahara The Mint Sahara-Tahoe
