    OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CITY OF LAS VEGAS CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. NOVEMBER 18th, 1937 Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on the 18th day of November 1937 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Present Mayor Arnett, Commissioners Krause, Marble, Perry and Ronnow, City Attorney and City Clerk. On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Ronnow it was moved and carried that a retail liquor store license, §50.00, be granted to Ethel Rappoport. Said application having been approved by the Chief of Police David Mackey. Vote was Commissioner Krause, Marble, Perry and Ronnow and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. At this time the Board discussed the preparing of the documents in connection with the Las Vegas Power System, Docket Nevada 1029-P-DS, PWA. On motion of Commissioner Marble seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that Mr. Austin, City Attorney forward to Barry Dibble all forms and blanks that should be prepared by the Engineer in regard to this project. Mr. Dabble acting as the engineer for the City on this project. Vote was Commissioners Krause, Marble, Perry and Ronnow and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. At this time the Board also considered the improving of ground owned by the City near the Fish Hatchery, with a golf course. The WPA to construct said improvement. On motion of Commissioner Perry seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that C.D.Baker, City Engineer, and Claude Mackie, Local WPA Manager prepare correct and proper application for W.P.A. help on this project. Vote was Commissioners Krause, Marble Perry and Ronnow and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed and adjourned until Monday the 22nd day of November, 1937 at the hour of seven o'clock P.M. OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. NOVEMBER 22nd, 1937 Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on the 22nd day of November 1937 at the hour of seven o'clock P.M. Roll call showing the following present Mayor Arnett, Commissioners Krause, Marble and Ronnow, City Attorney and Clerk. Absent Commissioner Perry. On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Ronnow the application of the Vegas Sweet Shoppe for the operation of one slot machine was granted. Vote Commissioners Krause, Marble and Ronnow and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, hone. Mr. A.W. Blackman as a member of the Las Vegas "Recreational Board" appeared before the Board and explained to the Board the plans of the "Recreational Board" in regard to the employing of a director for the Recreational Department. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and car­ried that the Board of Commissioners approve the plan of the Recreational Board in the em­ploying of E.F.Tandy for a probationary period of sixty days and at the end of that time a definite decision be given as to the hiring of Mr. Tandy permanently. That the City support the Board in the financing of this department until the further order of this Board of Com­missioners. Vote was Commissioners Krause, Marble, and Ronnow and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. At this time the Board considered a passing of an ordinance governing the sale of alcoholic liquors as same had been prepared by Mr. Austin, City Attorney, and after due con­sider the following Ordinance was and passed as an emergency ordinance: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2, SECTION 7, SECTION 8 AS AMENDED, SECTION 9, SECTION 16 AS AMENDED, SECTION 17, SECTION 18, SECTION 21 AND SECTION 23 OF ORDINANCE NO. 203 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISTRIBUTION AND CONTROL OF INTOX­ICATING AND ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS AND BEVERAGES, REGULATING PLACES WHERE AND UNDER WHAT CONDITION SAID INTOXICATING AND ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS AND BEVERAGES MAY BE KEPT, SOLD, GIVEN AWAY OR OTHERWISE DISTRIBUTED; PROVIDING FOR PERMITS AND LICENSES; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON­FLICT THEREWITH", AND REPEALING SECTION 22 OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 203. Vote on the adoption of the Ordinance was Commissioners Krause, Marble and Ronnow and Honor the Mayor L.L. Arnett voting aye. Noes, none. Commissioner Perry absent. The Clerk was directed to have this ordinance published once a week for two con­secutive weeks in the Las Vegas Age, a weekly newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, Said Ordinance to be known as Ordinance No. 228, and to be in full force and effect from and after its complete publication.
