That old pro Jimmy | Durante made this opening the occa- , si on of his reunion with Eddie Jackson, who returned to the act with a flour- | ish as the Schnoz led his zany crew j r* through 74 minutes of buffoonery that | had ?╟╓em applauding for more. In the H Durante turn are Sonny King, Johnny ?·?? Mack, Jules Buffano, Sally Davis and, L of course, Jack Roth. Jackson?╟╓s return brought a tremen- *?╟╓ dous welcome from the jammed house rj as he did his cakewalk and sang ?╟úBill Rj Bailey.?╟Ñ King?╟╓s rendition of ?╟ ?╟ You M^de Me Love You?╟╓?╟╓ was well received. Donn Arden stages an unusual pro- duction number of four scenes recall- ing the history of motiorvpictures with Louella Parson?╟╓s recorded voice open- ing the show, then Art Johnson han- dles the chores with an oldtime movie camera as he takes one with the ?╟ ?╟ Max Ennetts?╟Ñ Beauty group featuring Flo Walters and Freddie Knarr. Next scene features Betty Lorraine who received terrific palm pats for her ?╟ ?╟ Perils of Pearl Green.?╟Ñ ?╟úGolddiggers?╟Ñ is the third scene, with a tribute to many of the stars such as Crosby, Temple, Lamour, Car- men Miranda, Dietrich, Cagney and Nelson Eddy. The fourth scene is the entire cast in a fast number. Arden reached into Paris for his fea- tured singer, Maggy Sarragne, who chirps ?╟ ?╟ These Days in Paris.?╟Ñ Here?╟╓s a gal with great personality and voice. As it stood opening night, 105 min- utes was rather long for the entire bill. It probably will be tightened -4-with TIMES TODAY!
