I agree.FREEMAN COMPANY if pub//c/sts PLANNING A V 5/10/59 Idea for Helldorado Float Based on the Parade Theme of "American Legends" build our own float using the idea: "America ?╟÷The Melting Pot." 1. Cut down present trailer bed from 16x40 to 12x30. 2. Use stairs and pedestals from old show props. 3. Use 2 CopaGirls in present show costumes ?╟÷ to depict Chinese.... 2 CopaGirls in Brazilian costumes... 2 CopaGirls in East Indian costumes.... 1 CopaGirl in Dutch costume (to be rented) 1 CopaGirl in Peasant costume (to be rented) 1 CopaGirl in Hawaiin costume (to be rented) 1 CopaGirl in Statue of Liberty costume (to be rented) 4. General idea is to tie in the assimilation of worldwide beauty into an American Melting Pot theme ?╟÷ with a beautiful American-dressed girl shown as the result of the assimilation. Here we can use the Copa magenta costume as a typical "prom gown". 5. The foreign dressed girls would be linked to the Statue of Liberty by a tasteful drape, with the girls standing on the various pedestals, with the Statue up a little higher. 6. We presented this idea to Stone, and he is making a sketch to be given us Monday. I don?╟╓t visualize too much construction, outside of a trailer bed of plywood, and the putting together of different stage props we now have on hand. 7. As for Stone's expense ?╟÷ I visualize only his sketch, his letting of the float for identification, and perhaps some dressing up of the girls with the drapes. 8. I recommend we paint the float in the colors we select this year instead of using crepe paper and paper-mache---- it would be quicker and less expensive ---- the result will hardly influence the decision of the judges, in my opinion. 9.
