    OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. JULY 5th, 1939 Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on the 5th day of July, 1939 at the hour of seven o'clock P.M. Present Mayor Russell, Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti, City Attorney and Clerk. Minutes of meeting of June 27th read and approved as read. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and car­ried that demands and warrants Nos. 178 to 187 be allowed and that the Clerk and Mayor sign the same. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. the Clerk presented to the Board the report of the Municipal Judge, A.G. Blad, for the month of June, 1939. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commission Gilbert it was moved and carried that the report be accepted and filed. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. Bids for the purchase of lamps for the City for the year were opened at this time and on motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that the bids for lamps for the City be handed to LeRoy Whipple Purchasing Clerk of the City for tabulation and that he report his findings to Commissioner Corradetti. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that the bids for the purchase of supplies for the Recreation Department be rejected. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the Purchasing Clerk purchase supplies need for the Recreational Department upon the approval of Commissioner Gilbert and Director Burger. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the City purchase from Ed Von Tobel Lumber Co. sheet metal in the sum of $78.90 to be used on the grand stand at the City Park. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. This being the time set for the opening of bids for the purchase of suitable supplies for the installation of a checking system for the dispensing of gas from the City barns and no bids being received it was on motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Gilbert moved and carried that the Purchasing Clerk purchase the necessary supplies not to exceed the sum of $50.00. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. At this time the Clerk read to the Board a letter from the Eagles Drum Corps asking that the City from its publicity fund give towards to cost of the trip of the said Drum Corps to the National Convention in Chicago next month. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that this letter be filed for consideration at the meeting to be held on the 17th day of July. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. The application of Dr. E. Winter for City Health Officer and Harry Gravelle for position with the Police Department were read, and on motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commis­sioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that the Clerk file these letter of application for future reference. Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Ronnow, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. The Clerk presented proof from Patrick Cline asking that the cash bond held in the name of the Acme Plumbing & Sheet Metal Company of which Patrick Cline was the owner, stating that he desired that said bond transferred to the credit of H. Brockmiller, a master plumber of the City of Las Vegas. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that this cash bond of $100.00 be transferred from the Acme Plumbing & Sheet Metal Co. Patrick Cline owner, to H. Brockmiller. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that all gaming and slot machines licenses applied for at this time be granted. This being all renewals. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none.
