I agree.S a lt Lake C itjr, U tah, D ec. 29, 1902 Mr. <T. Ross Clark, Los Angeles, California. Dear Sir:- In explanation of bill rendered on account of Vegas Ranch, will say; at Caliente I hired Phil Smith to go with me for $2.00 per day and expenses. I also took Mr. Clippinger along and paid his expenses, and while I was with Clippinger to Sandy, Good Springs, Manvel and Searchlight, he paid my expenses and I consider I rendered him as much service as he rendered me at the ranch. The Stewarts did not charge me anything for hoard for Smith, Clippinger or n$rself and only charged $1.50 per day for team and man while surveying. I paid Mr. McWilliams * hoard, hut paid him nothing on account of services rendered. Yours Enclosures
