On motion of Commissioner Arnett seconded by Commissioner Marble it was moved and carried that a retail beverage license be granted to D. Curto for 206 Wilson Ave; Westside. Vote was as follows: Commissioners Arnett, Marble, German and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. At this time the resignation of Lloyd S. Payne, City Electrical inspector for sometime past was presented to the Board for consideration. Same to be effective as of December 15th, 1934 On motion of Commissioner Down seconded by Commissioner Arnett it was moved and carried that the resignation of Lloyd S. Payne be accepted, and that A.L. Drew, present Supt of the Garbage Dept. be appointed Electrical Inspector to succeed Mr. Payne and that S.C. Scott be appointed to take Mr. Drew's place as Supt. of Garbage Collection Dept. for the City of Las Vegas. Appointments to be effective as of December 17th, 1934. Vote was as follows: Commissioners Arnett, Marble, German and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. An ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE DRINKING OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS IN ANY PUBLIC PLACE OR IN VEHICLES IN ANY PUBLIC PLACE IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, AND PROVIDING A PUNISHMENT THEREFOR," was read for a second time and passed by the following vote: Commissioners Arnett, Marble, German and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. Said Ordinance to be known as Ordinance No. 212, and to be in full force and effect from this day forward. An Ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE FORBIDDING SOLICITORS, PEDDLERS, HAWKERS. ITINERANT MERCHANTS AND TRANSIENT VENDORS OF MERCHANDISE FROM TRESPASSING IN AND UPON PRIVATE RESIDENCES WHEN UNINVITED SO TO DO BY THE OWNERS AND OCCUPANTS OF SAID PRIVATE RESIDENCES. IN SOLICITING AND ATTEMPTING TO SOLICIT ORDERS, OR IN SELLING AND EXPOSING FOR SALE WARES AND MERCHANDISE, AND DECLARING SUCH SOLICITING TO BE A NUISANCE, AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR COMMITTING SUCH NUISANCES," was read for a second time and passed by the following vote; Commissioners Arnett, Marble, German and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. Said Ordinance to be known as Ordinance No 213 of the City of Las Vegas and to be in full force and effect from and after this reading. Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, held on the 13th day of December, 1934 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Following answered roll call. Mayor Cragin, Commissioners Arnett, Marble, and Down, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent Commissioner German. At this time Walter Hunsaker appeared before the Board in regard to securing permission from the Board of City Commissioners for the erection of a permanent portico over a portion of the sidewalk on the north east corner of Fremont and Third Sts. Said portico to be a part of the Rio Grande Oil Company Service station to be erected on the said site. After some discussion on the matter on motion of Commissioner Arnett seconded by Commissioner Down it was moved and carried that the matter be referred to the City Planning Commission for recommendation. Vote was as follows: Commissioners Arnett, Marble and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. An Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance regulating the making, carrying, keeping and selling of certain weapons and devices," was read for a first time and adopted by the following vote: Commissioners Arnett, Marble and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. he City Clerk was directed to have the above mentioned ordinance published in the Las Vegas Age for a period of two weeks, that is two times as is provided by law. Said Ordinance to be known as Ordinance No. 214. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed until Friday the 28th day of December, 1934 at the hour of three o'Clock P.M.
