    31 - METALS, SCRAP NON-FERROUS The proper preparation of non-ferrous metals for sale is important and should conform to specifications, Appendix "B" . The various metals recovered from equipment and materials which are scrapped can he separated by simple hand tools or by machines purchased or specially developed for the various scrapping operations. METAL, SCRAP FERROUS Where small quantities are involved the metals are usually sorted into two or more grades and sold on local dealer's classifications. When large quantities are handled and storage and handling facilities are available, metals of this kind are graded into standard classi­fications and yield a higher return. 4 See Specifications, Appendix "BH » METALS, MISCELLANEOUS SCRAP See %>ecifi cations Appendix "B" for detailed list, classification, instructions for preparation etc. METER PARTS The parts of old and defective meters which, have been condemned such as aluminum discs, aluminum bases, cast-iron bases, brass registers, and magnets may be removed and placed in stock.
