Mr. Mann: R eferrin g to Mr. McNamee's l e t t e r o f June 29th in regard to highways a cro ss Las Vegas p ip e l i n e : P r o f ile s in d ic a te c ro ssin g o f two highways in the approximate lo c a tio n s shown at p o in ts "A " and "B " on the attached p r in t , although -there i s nothing to id e n t i fy them as being road on s e c tio n lin e between s e c tio n s 32 and 33 and on the old grade o f the L.V.& 2 . I understand from Mr. McNamee th a t there would be no o p p o sitio n to c lo s in g one o f these roads and that i t i s p referred to keep the road along the old L»V«& 2 . road bed in o p era tio n . I a ls o understand from Mr. McNamee th at there i s an embankment on the L.Y .& 2 . a t the p o in t where the p ip e lin e c r o s s e s , although th is i s not in d icated on e ith e r the p r o f i l e prepared by the D iv is io n or p r o f i l e p la tte d from le v e ls run by Mr. M ack's o f f i c e . However, t h is may be due to f a ilu r e to take readings a t p o in t where p ip e lin e c ro sse s old road bed. From inform ation furnished by Mr. McNamee, I advised him th at i t would probably be p r e fe r a b le , s o fe r as the R ailroad Company i s concerned, to keep the highway alon g the old L.V.& 2 . road bed open and c lo se the highway along the north and south se c tio n l i n e .
