ORDINANCE NO. 526 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARGEMENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, MOVING, REMOVAL, CONVERSION, DEMOLITION, OCCUPANCY, EQUIPMENT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR; DECLARING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE DISTRICTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERS 130, 166, 188, 284, 303, 421, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That a certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas, being marked and designated as "Uniform Building Code, 1952 Edition, Volumes I and III", published by Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, be and the same is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Las Vegas, for the regulation of the erection, construction, enlargement, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of all buildings and/or structures in the City of Las Vegas; providing penalties for the violation of such Building Code; declaring and establishing fire districts; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of such "Uniform Building Code, 1952 Edition, Volumes I and III", published by Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, amended, and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Ordinance. SECTION 2. Section 205 of Volume I is hereby amended to read as follows: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the city, or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of this code. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is committed, continued or permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation such person shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00, or by imprisonment in the City Jail for not more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 3. Section 302 of Volume I is hereby amended to provide for a different Table No. 3-A to read as follows: TABLE NO. 3 A - BUILDING PERMIT FEES TOTAL VALUATION FEE Less than $20.00 ----------------------------------------No Fee $20.00 to and including $100.00 ------------------- - - -----$1.00 More than $100.00 to and including $400.00 ---- 2.00 More than $1+00.00 to and including $700.00 ------ 4.00 More than $700.00 to and including $1,000.00 ---- 6.00 Each additional $1,000.00 or fraction, to and including $15,000.00-2.00 Each additional $1,000.00 or fraction, to and including $50,000.00 -1.00 Each additional $1,000.00 or fraction exceeding $50,000.00 .50 SECTION 4. Section 303 of Volume I is hereby amended to read as follows: (A) Building Permit Fees. A fee for each building permit shall be paid to the building official as set forth in Table No. 3-A. Whenever any work, for which a permit is required under the provisions of this Chapter, has been commenced without the authorization of such permit, a special investigation shall be made before a permit may be issued for such work.
