736-4949 Mr. A1 Freeman Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada Dear A1: As you and I have discussed, Trans-World Productions is proceeding with its filming in the belief that there is $36,000 state funds supposedly allocated for two and one-half minutes commercial time, as well as for the provision of a 20-plus-minute film to be turned over to the state for tourism and industrial promotion. If, indeed, these state funds are committed, then somewhere along the line someone should be watchdogging filming to be certain it is representative of what the state has to offer in tourism and industry and to assure all elements equal and impartial identification. The contract with the film company was signed on November 19 by William Tyson a few weeks ahead of the proposal's being submitted to the Tourism Advisory group. It is very doubtful that Tyson's signature can bind the state and, as a matter of fact, the new head of the Bureau of Economic Development has told me he is going to break the contract, and, indeed, that there is no money to make the buy, in spite of the fact we were told a contingency fund was available. If you have any questions, please call. Kindest regards, Harvey Diederich Director of Marketing HD/cy
