Mr. Reinhardt: Proposed Plan to Increase Las Vegas Water Supply [This refers to the letter dated April 13, 1954, received by the District from James M. '^Montgomery, District Engineer, in further reference to increasing the production facilities of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company as quickly as possible to assure an y^dequate supply for this coming summer's anticipated heavy demand. I your absence from Los Angeles, copies of Mr, Montgomery's April 13 letter were sent Irect to Mr. I, E. Bennett, General Solicitor of the Union Pacific Railroad, and to L. R. Maag, Acting General Manager of fie Las Vegas Land and Water Company, It Is the District's understanding that Hie copy received by Mr. Bennett has now been laced in your hands. ILJi tAt an adjourned regular meeting of the District Board of Directors, held this afternoon, j a formal resolution was adopted approving the plan set forth in Mr. Montgomery's above | mentioned April 13, 1954, letter to Hie District. The resolution adopted by the District further provides in substance as follows: That the Las Vegas Land and Water Company be requested to proceed Immediately to develop additional production facilities in accordance with the plan outlined in Mr. Montgomery's April 13 letter, and That the Les Vegas Land and Water Company be authorized to expend for this purpose such sums as may be necessary therefor, subject to approval by the District of the final detail of estimated expenditures, as set forth on Sts customary "Work Order Authority - Form 330-1", and That all costs and expenses Incurred In connection with carrying out the plan proposed in Mr. Montgomery's April 13, 1954, letter, or any approved modification thereof, are to be added to the agreed basic purchase price of $2,500,000, pursuant to the provisions of Paragraph (a) of Section 9 of the Purchase Contract entered into between the Las Vegas Land and Water Company and the District under date of June 1, 1953.
