As in the past, the executive committee has designated a National Selections Committee of leading sportswriters and sportscasters across the United States to choose our honorees from among those outstanding performers whose accomplishments have left an indelible mark on the American athletic scene. We thank you for your cooperation in helping us choose past honorees. Whether your particular choices were among those honored or not, we value your time and considered judgment. Ballots for 1970 award winners will be in the mail to you shortly. We would be most appreciative if you would once again give us the benefit of your professional counsel.
