Page 3 How did it all start? The cataclyst was an enormous challenge producer Frank Sennes inherited when the Stardust Hotel first opened its doors in 1958. Sennes was assigned the awesome task of coiYjuring up a new and unique stage blockbuster for the Stardust's gala opening. An inspirational idea struck the famed entrepeneur. Since Paris and Las Vegas were universally acknowledged as the night club capitals of the world, why not represent the two glittering resort cities in a single stage spectacular? Up to "that time no one had imported intact a Parisian revue. The peerless entertainment values of Paris' world-famous Lido Club seemed particularly tempting to Sennes. Why not combine these opulent and exciting shows with some of the electronic wonders that have given everyday living a space age look? No sooner had Sennes made up his mind to execute this new and daring concept, then he was on a plane bound for Paris. There he made a deal with the 6wners of the Lido Club calling for the exportation to Las Vegas of its entire show. This accomplished, he combed every European entertainment stronghold for the greatest specialty acts available for presentation in America. Next he put Ed White, one of the nation's top technical directors, to work designing a dazzling array of electronic devices never before used for stage productions. The fruits of White's creative labors was the revolutionary new light control and sound effects systems that were world premiered on the show's historic opening night twelve years ago*
