'Fire 1 and Bee' Is Hot Stuff By Charles Supin Jerry Jackson has done it again. He has created, directed and choreographed a splendid new show ?╟úFire & Ice?╟Ñ now playing in the main showroom at the Hacienda HoteL Heis also the creative genius behind the hugely successful ?╟úFolies Bergere" at the Tropicana HoteL HfegSt ?║3?╟ú * Reportedly given a budget of $450,000, and a free hand to do what was necessary, Jackson brought the show in by doing more than what was originally expected of him. For example, he personally designed the costumes thereby saving, almost $25 thousand in production expenses. Jackson also opened thft'show in less than three months, andtaat meant working with the set delivered almost at the last minute. , . . . Jackson is used to such schedules, having worked on the Tony Orlando television series, and, more recently, hectically struggling to bring the musical "Seven Brides and Seven Brothers" to the boards. The future might be Uncertain for ?╟úSeVenBrides and Seven Brothers,?╟Ñ but not for ?╟úFire & Ice.?╟Ñ This show is a h,t One of the main reasons why this show works is because of the balance between the regular dancing and the ice skating. This blend, plus the integration of the novelty acts, is imaginatively staged. There are seven segments in the show, each one as colorful or more colorful than the other, and each done with a joyful verve centering on the underlying thematic question: what's hot ahd whats cunrcsi-fc?' bbb Jackson takes rides and they pay out of him. For example he does a fashion show on ice, showing styles from the turn of the century up'the through today. He?╟╓ll use songs such as ?╟úProud Mary for the a very ouesiio&able period for women s SSlii forth, 1950s.
