GARDEN NIGHT as Samson and the knights move stealthily toward the balcony from whence the MUSIC eminates, Samson motions to the others as he pulls his horn around and starts blowing, softly at first, but increasing in tempo and volume as the others join in. 35 INT. PRINCESS1 QUARTERS NIGHT It is Lucybird who first hears the music ffom below. She stops playing to listen. LUCYBIRD Samson the Sender! One by one the other girls hear it now, too and they are drawn to the balcony. The Princess is confused, bewildered, but she, too, moves to the balcony with her handmaidens. 36 FULL SHOT to include Samson and the knights below and the Princess with her handmaidens on the balcony above. Before too long the number gets wilder and the four handmaidens are com- pelled to react to it; they begin dancing on the balcony. 37 SHOTS Balcony: Handmaidens dancing. Below: Samson and the Knights blowing wildly. Princess: Trying to move with the beat but not knowing how. Just as the number ends the Duke of Welk appears below in the garden and calls out: DUKE Guards I Guards I (gestures) And-a-one, and-a-two, and-a-three-- Suddenly, four GUARDS race out and chase Samson and the knights around the garden. Winston, Roily, and Morgan manage to elude them and escape but Samson and Dancelot are captured. 38 ANGLE - BALCONY LUCYBIRD (terrified) They?╟╓ve got Samson the Sender!
