Sale of Water: las Yegas - June 13th, 1935. W 23-5 Mr. F. H. Knickerbocker, General Manager, Los Angeles, California. Dear Sir: Referring to our conversation last night in reference to the water situation here, I find there is no change from that explained to you. In the early morning there was a small triele of water coming over the spill-way at the reservoir, indicating it was then full, hut at 10:30 this morning the trickle had disappeared and the water was lowered in the reservoir at least 10 inches. Ihe pump on the well at the r oundhouse was run until late last night, then cut off until early this morning when it was again started. In conference with Messrs. Mor-ley and Henssler at noon today, Morley advised there is no further need of paying 3 hours extra for maintenance of this pump, and he will arrange to operate same 24 hours per day without any maintenance other than that whieh will be given by himself and Hennsler. I will therefore advise Brig Young that Mr. Morley will look after this pump in the future. We are still working with the Mayor and City Commissioners for passage of ordinance regulating sprinkling and waste of water, but have been unable as yet to get them to take immediate action. Am arranging for certaiJ3s<publie-ity this afternoon in the "Review-Journal" which I hope will have some effect with the patrons who are using and wasting water. Will keep you advised daily of the sit rati on. T*.
