Colonel Howard Clark, retired army engineer, was named general manager of the Las Vegas Valley water district- Friday night at a meeting which saw a five point program adopted by the directors and a “ full speed ahead order given the new executive. Colonel Clark has an impressive record in the construction .and consultant field and will mm immediately on the vital necessary to augment the water supply by pumping Lake Mead. The new general manager is a graduate of Stanford university and Massachusetts Institute of Technology with degrees in civil engineering. He has a long record of successful engineering work and during the last Wormi commission for use of the state facilities to deliver 8,000,000 gallons of water daily from Lake Mead into the local system. 3. - Completion of negotiations with the Air Force base officials for supplying water needs there, a plan already agreed to by the Colorado River commission. 4. - Proceed with detials of the bond election necessary to finance construction of the nee-.
