Presumably, purpose of the I meeting will be to ascertain that i! complete accord exists in the | propected deal whereby the water 1 district is to take over the entire 1 Henderson water system for one ! dollar. Thomas A. Campbell, president i of the water district directors,- i said the requested meeting will be held the afternoon of May 9, -at one of the resort hotels, He | said Senator McCarran asked that the public be invited. The water district board met| \ briefly yesterday to review the rapid-fire developments of th e ! • past month, during which time I their prospects of obtaining Hen-iderson water for Las Veas shot; j from ah" apparent turn-down by j the CRC to complete success... j The directors discussed engi- ; neering needs for the future, 1 ; now that the project is assured,! i and instructed their own, engi-; ! neer, Col. Howard Clark, to pre- i I pare a memo setting forth the i i engineering requirements of the’ j district. The names of three ? firms in- p terested in the engineering work „ . were brought up, and it is ex-i pected that representatives will ; ; be interviewed in the near fu- i • ture. They are the firm of Gree-j ley and Hanson, the company • which was retained to prepare ! the district’s original feasibility f report; the J. M. Montgomery | Co., former managers of the Ba-sic Magnesium plant under gov- ! ernment contract; and James , ’ Montgomery, former head of the ; Montgomery firm, who is now in business for himself.
