Michael Jackson?╟╓S brother, Jermaine, will join Pia Zadora Nov. 27 for a special show at the Riviera. You may recall Zadora did a duet with Jermaine on the album ?╟úWhen the Rain Begins To Fall.?╟Ñ It hit No. 1 around the world. Zadora, Jackson and an all-star guest line-up will be performing in the United Cerebral Palsy Star-Athon ?╟╓89. Admis- sion is free. Show producers have asked that no one under 12 be admitted. A special one-perform- ance-only Christmas show is planned by Nevada Opera Theatre Dec. 4 in Bally?╟╓s Celeb- rity Showroom at 7 p.m. The ?╟úHoliday Celebra- tion?╟Ñ features a 40- member orchestra, pianist Mafalda and the stars of the 1955 hit single ?╟úTeach Me Tonight,?╟Ñ the deCastro Sisters. There mafalda will also be choirs singing Christmas carols. Ticket prices range from $10 to $20 for general seating. ?╟úDirty Dancing?╟÷the Concert Tour,?╟Ñ starring Bill Medley, the Contours and the Dirty Dancing Dancers, finishes its Las Vegas four-night stopover with a midnight show at Caesars Palace Nov. 25. The show brings together recording artist Medley and the Contours (whose hit singles ?╟ú(I?╟╓ve Had) the Time of My Life?╟Ñ and ?╟úDo You Love Me?╟Ñ), were featured in the original ?╟úDirty Dancing?╟Ñ film. The movie?╟╓s soundtrack sold more than six bill MEDLEY million copies and was listed by Billboard magazine at No. 1 for 15 weeks. The reason ?╟úDirty Dancing?╟Ñ is doing a late show is because Singapore singing star Anita Sarawak is doing an 8 p.m. family show in the showroom. Sarawak has performed concerts with her band throughout the world and has recorded eight popular albums] Shell be joined on stage by young dancers from the Las Vegas Ballet Arts School for a couple of numbers. Vegas has a couple of, nice activities going on this weekend for families. At the Thomas & Mack Center through Nov. 27, ?╟úDisney oh Ice?╟Ñ starring Snow White, the ANITA SARAWAK Seven Dwarfs and Mickey Mouse, is featured. Prices for the show range from $7.50 to $11.50. For informa- tion, call 739-3900. The other event is Circus Vargus, the world?╟╓s largest traveling big top circus. It?╟╓s returning to Las Vegas in the Fantastick Furniture parking lot through Nov. 25. Suddenly it seems like stars who haven?╟╓t worked Vegas in years are popping up everywhere. Last week Liza Minnelli returned to the Riviera after a seven- year absence. And Ron- nie Milsap is headlining at the Desert Inn through Nov. 26. He?╟╓s been away from Las Vegas for more than five years. And I just learned that Bally?╟╓s has booked Steve Law- rence and Eydie Gorme. They, too, have been away a long time The most celebrated return was Ann-Margret at Caesars Palace last LIZA minelli week. After five years, she dusted her concert act off and brought it back to Caesars under a two-year exclusive contract with Caesars World Resorts. She said her decision to return to the stage had a lot to do with her mentor George Burns and what he said to her almost three years ago at his 90th birthday party. ?╟ You can do all that dramatic stuff,?╟Ñ he said, ?╟úbut you?╟╓ve got to get back on stage.?╟Ñ She heeded his advice well and it?╟╓s nice to have her back. Peggy Russo, one of the stars in the Pad- dlewheel?╟╓s delightful ?╟╓50s ann-margret show, ?╟úSh Boom,?╟Ñ got quite a thrill last week. She had a surprise visitor.. .Leslie Gore. What makes this visit so significant is Russo does an imitation of Gore in the show. All this was a complete surprise to Russo who didn?╟╓t know until after she?╟╓d done her impression that Gore was there to see her. Russo and Gore talked afterwards and Gore said she loved what Russo is doing. Singer Loretta Holl way is headlining LESLIE GORE Catch a Rising Star Bally?╟╓s through Nov. 28. Prior to this gig she Atlantic City opening for Jay Leno. Following Holloway are Howard Busgang Pudgy, Nov. 29-Dec. 12. Busgang has been in six films and appeared regularly on TV shows such as George Schlat- ter?╟╓s ?╟úComedy Room,?╟Ñ ?╟úThe Late Show?╟Ñ and ?╟úCheck It Out.?╟Ñ He?╟╓s also written for Joan Rivers, the CBS series ?╟úWe Don?╟╓t Knock?╟Ñ and ?╟úGossip Magazine.?╟Ñ Catch a Ris- ing Star is attracting some very fine talent. There?╟╓s more good comedy talent across the street from Bally?╟╓s. Mitzi HOWARD BUSGANG Shore?╟╓s Comedy Store has had a stronghold on the Dunes?╟╓ showroom for some years now. Jimmie Walker is the host of the current show featuring four other comedians, Roxanne Reese, Joey Canten, John Mendoza and Finis Henderson. It looks like Stephen Spielberg?╟╓s next production for Universal Pictures called ?╟úParadox?╟Ñ will do some filming in Las Vegas. That will make a lot of females happy because the movie stars Michael J. Fox. In December a sitcom pilot with a casino theme, called ?╟úWinner Thke All?╟Ñ will be filming around town. This show stars Abe Vigoda, best known for his role on ?╟úBarney Miller.?╟Ñ Page 4, FUN & GAMING, Nov. 25-Dec. 1, 1988
