Proceed with the Installation of pumps, motors and pump house for Wells Nos* § and p| the oonstruotion of a power line from our Hallro&d shop generating plant to furnish power for operation of the pumps; installa­tion of telemeter and oonstruotion of a circuit eo that Mr. Bracken*s office will at all times be advised of the elevation of water in the reservoir; replace the present leaking 2^* wood stave pipe line between the settling basin and the reservoir with welded steel pipe, if available, or with translte; all as provided under Work Order No. 1B15. Wells Noe. 3 and 6 can be made to produce about double the present artesian flow (which Mr. Bracken has meaeured as a total of 912,3^ $?&) by the installation of pumps at a cost considerably less than the cost of drilling two new wells. By so doing we will, at the cost of pumps and a power line, have developed increased production approximating that which would be obtained from two new wells, and will have on hand these facili­ties for use when the artesian pressure is diminished to the extent that pumping lo necessary. The small power need can be supplied from our own electric plant at practically no additional coat. A telemeter placed in Mr. Bracken’s office will at all times indicate the depth of water in the .reser­voir. It has a twofold purpose: First, to indicate when overflow la approaching and permit immediate dis­patch of an attendant to reduce the well flow; and, Second, to warn of impending shortage of reservoir supply and permit the opening up of wells or pumps. The wood stave pipe is leaking badly due to termite action and old age. It should be replaced, not only to conserve water, but to Insure against the possibility or even probability of a serious failure. In addition to the above, I suggest 19*12 Budget provide for two additional wells to the 3°0~I‘oot zone with pump and motor equipment. I suggest this zone as most of the local veils are producing therefrom and therefore depleting
