The tournament will be conducted as in the old auction bridge days: ie; 4 or 6 deals at each table with vulnerability prescribes (none,E-W,N-S,all) or with vulnerability only when earned by a team* Scoring as in duplicate tournaments? The winning team at a table moving and the losing team remain- ing* Winners to be determined by the beams acquiring the high- est total score? ie: a team picking up the best hands could win even tho they did not play them like professionals? At Denver, in the over 55 year game, Gerber & Goren teamed up against the remaining duffers* This may not be illegal but it was considerred unsportsmanlike by the large majority of players I spoke to* Will this happen at Las Begas? Will there be a predominant number of professionals playing for pay or together against us run of the mill players? In passing I would like to complement the director at Denver who come from Western Canada* At one session he had a many as 4 tables calling for a rulling, he never became hurried, listened to the explainition -s and calmly made his decision asking if there was any objection* Another director I have had trouble with for fast unjustified rullings would have pulled his hair out under stmlliar circumstances# This was at Denver* It has been my experience that many directors forget who is responsible for their employment (Salary) and look with disdain upon the rum of the mill player and resent being interupted in their scoring to answer an infraction* See the unjustified censure(*) What accomodations are available at the Sands and what is the price range? (*) which is supposidly filed against me in NT* I could care less* I did intend to answer the letter but had more important recreations to attend to* I explained (as distinguished from teaching) a group of 5 tables in Hawaii (Cuberson) in 1931* I directed (by being drafted in the absence of the former director) in Pai ama from 1937-1940, starting a new section as soon as I had 8 tables, with as many a 3 sections in play at one time, I played and never had any rubarbs. The rules and conventions were much fewer at that time* Or are you that old? I dropped out of the AGBL from 1953-1960, s?· just have anough points to be able to play with my wife in regional and sectional tournaments Yours,
