It?╟╓s true that their lives are very different, but everything can be worked out. They can spend six months on the ranch, and six months wherever Maria is dancing. After all, they don?╟╓t have to be sensible, Mhen two people can make a fortune whenever they want, just by holding hands, they don?╟╓t have to have anything else in common. They go back to the Sands with their happy ending all worked out. But back in her rooms, Marla finds Pierre - her manager - waiting for her. At once and defiantly, she tells, him about Chuck. She knows everything he?╟╓s going to say about its being fantastic but she isn't going to listen! She?╟╓s going to marry Chuck and that's all there is to it! To her amazement, Pierre makes no objections. He's heard about the luck - he's dying to meet Chuck - he .wants to go along with them to dinner and to celebrate. As Maria goes to her bedroom contentedly, to change, Sari looks at Pierre oddly. She wanted Maria to fall in love - she thought it would be good for her. And she likes Chuck. But even so, the idea of Chuck and Maria as a permanent combination doesn't make sense. Pierre shrugs. Why make a fuss now, when the girl's like a love-sick calf? Later, when the magic wears off - there'll be plenty of time. And what if the magic doesn't wear off, Sari asks. But Pierre's not worried - he doesn't believe in magic. And he seems to be right.
