Taking over the establishment in 1945 a new group, headed by Joseph and Louis CLERICO, transformed it, with the aid of the decorator Henri RIGAL, into a sumptuous Venetian banquet-hall, the glittering palace of luxurious revues. The management was put into the hands ot Pierre LOUIS-GUERIN. With its seating capacity to accomodate 1 000, the LIDO is the largest of the great Parisian cabaret- restaurants and its panoramic stage, together with its raising floor, its swimming-pool, its skating rink of real ice, permits the presentation of the most varied sort of spectacles, shows incomparable to those of any other night - club. The LIDO revues are distinguished by the beauty of their dancers, the richness and colour of their costumes, the high quality of their attractions and the rapidity of their tempo. The productions of Pierre LOUIS-GUERIN and Rene FRADAY have a style, a chic, a modernity and a visual splendour that appeals at once both to the Parisian and the visitor. The fame of the LIDO has spread far and wide. Recently a critic wrote: "Both foreigners and the French, when coming to Paris, first visit the Eiffel Tower and the LIDO. At the LIDO they are assured of finding the most beautiful cabaret show in the entire world.
