Mr, Gene Morphy Danny O'Neil, who has a daily television show on the ABC station here, has accepted the invitation on the press flight provided he can bring his wife along, le run into this problem on almost every press flight we operate, and it is a problem! If we allow one person to bring his wife, we must necessarily permit other guests to bring their wives. It may be that O'Neil will consent to make the trip without his wife if it develops that we have others in the group who will not be bringing their wives. In any event, I am sure we can work it out and will let you know. If it is agreeable with you, Edwin Sills, editor of the Chicago Athletic Association's magazine, "Cherry Circle," would like to make the trip to do a story on Las Vegas. CAA is an executive-type club and the majority of its members do considerable vacation and business travel, G, E, McCollum, our regional sales director bore, and a member of the club, and I agree that the dub's magazine would be an excellent outlet for the Las Vegas story, Vern Whaley, picture editor of the "Chicago American" today bought an idea that I suggested for a picture-story layout on two average Chicago working girls making a budget-type tour to Las Vegas and vicinity. We are con- cluding arrangements for one of bis photographers to make the trip on the press flight to shoot the picture-story. Our immediate problem is to find two good-looking Chicago girls and if you have any way of determining in Las Vegas of the expected arrival of such girls from Chicago, I would ap- preciate your letting me know. As far as the silver dollar publicity is concerned, we have made tentative arrangements to have three burros at the airport, complete with saddle bags, in which we will deposit some of the silver dollars. My present thinking is that we could have the three cowgirls and Abe Schiller at the airport, at which point we could sot up the publicity pictures and make some tele- vision film. I do net believe it feasible to walk the 10-mile distance from the airport to the ticket office; so what I am planning is to put the burros aboard a van and carry them to a point on the outskirts of the Loop, possi- bly unload them at State and Jackson, and then walk the two blocks north on State Street to Monroe and then east cm Monroe to the tioket office. The arrival eould immediately precede the Brink's truck, which will be deliver- ing the bulk of the silver dollars. You may want to give some thought to this. I will probably call you later in the week to bring you up-to-date on the whole deal and we oan discuss the arrival publicity set-up further.
