The Practical Dreamers of Green Valley. Green Valley's history is being made today because of the far-sighted vision, financial strength and care-ful fulfillment of promises which have continued for three decades. In the early 1950s, H.M. "Hank" Greenspun, a leading Nevada citizen, began accumulating undeveloped land southeast of Las Vegas. Within ten years, 2,000 acres had been acquired and Greenspun began developing the land. The Paradise Valley Country Club, around which Green Valley eventually grew, was the first blossom in the serene desert setting. The year 1972 brought the for-mation of American Nevada Corpo-ration, with a goal of transforming this valley in the dynamic decade ahead.The company continued to acquire land until over 8,000 acres had been accumulated. Then, in 1974, the plan began to flower when Mark L. Fine joined American Nevada Corporation and undertook the responsibility of guid-ing the creation and implementa-tion of the plan which is unfolding today. Fine gathered a group of this country's most talented land planners and engineers to create an exciting new locale, blending resi-dent's needs for housing, services, recreation and employment into the final blueprint.Through American Nevada, Fine developed formal guide-lines to ensure the plan's integrity.
