BEARD June 26, 1968 Mr. Red Skelton Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada 89100 Dear Red: I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much I enjoyed your late show last Tuesday night. I was^in Las Vegas with a group of other businessmen on an Air Force Civilian Orientation Tour and I welcomed the opportunity to see your fine performance. It was a thrill to come home and tell our. children that I had seen you in person, for they are all good fans of your TV show. I remember your Tuesday night radio program and the adventures of Clem Kadiddlehopper, Willie Lump Lump and Junior, for it taught us to laugh and not take ourselves too seriously. All of us need this today and I think your fine humor is giving us a good remedy for our ails. Many thanks for your wonderful entertainment. May you continue to warm the hearts of all Americans for many years to come. Sincerely yours, /isUJjifoJU Robert E. Goodman REG:law
