|Sennes to Present Starlight Show. at Marineland in lune. By AUDREY KEARNS There?╟╓ll be no more dashing ?√ßoff to Florida to see the Aqua- Icade! Not that you or I or J most of us, for that matter, | could more than dream of I watching that Aquacade un- Ider blue or starlite skies?╟÷but [just like the Genii with the [lamp, Frank Sennes is going [to create magic, and not only [with ?╟úyemon ?╟÷ that?╟╓s mon- ley, spelled backwards. Frank [Sennes?╟╓ magic is his tremen- |dous showmanship which is [back of the great show he and |William F. Monahan, vice- | president and general man- 1 ager of Marineland of the Pa* |cific, will present there dur- ing the summer, starting June 19. On5 that night at 9 p.m., [after Bubbles and the por- [pcfises and seals 'exit ^the ?√ßscene, Frank Sennes?╟╓ Star- night Spectacular ?╟÷ Stage [and Aqua Show,?╟Ñ staged and [directed by Donn Arden, will ?√ßhave its world premiere in the ?√ßSea Arena of the world?╟╓s larg- est oceanarium in Pa- [los Verdes. You know the [show will be exciting, for [Arden has staged and di- rected the many wonderful [shows presented at Sennes?╟╓ | Moulin Rouge in Hollywood. | And to insure the excellence [of the*Aquacade portion of the [show, Frank * also has Jane | Aull. Jane looks like one of Iher own Aquacade girls, being ?√ßtall, attractive and blonde but ?√ßshe told me that she?╟╓s been |putting on the Aquacades for ?√ßthe Los Angeles Athletic Club (for several years; several of ?√ßher swimming showgirls have |been in the Florida show, so | you know they know their way [around the pool as well as in | the entertainment world.' Incidentally, when I asked I Frank Sennes about the rumor [that he planned to turn his [famous Moulin Rouge into a ?√ßtheater in the fall, he com- mented, ?╟úWhen I saw how beautiful the place looked without tables the night of the Emmy?╟╓s, I commented that maybe I?╟╓d keep it that way! and turn it into a theater ?╟÷J and some people took me se- riously., Of course,?╟Ñ he laugh-i ed, ?╟úI may do just that?╟÷then! again I may not.?╟Ñ In the! meantime Sammy Davis Jr. continues to star in the cur-1 rent Arden production at the! Moulin Rouge. Daytime activities, includ- ing appearance of ?╟úBubbles,?╟Ñ the trained whale, will con- tinue 'with the new show taking over when the stars jcome out. producer-director Arden is at work right now on pro- duction numbers designed to make full use of the theater?╟╓s unique properties and he plans to incorporate aquatic numbers into the revue as well as production routines with an exotic and inter- national flavor. Already signed to appear as a headline attraction is Los Gatos Trio of South America. Sennes plans to continue his presentations at the Mou- lin Rouge, stating: ?╟úTourists visiting the Southland dur- ing the summer are seeking big name entertainment, so that will be our policy. We can then redesign our huge and successful western routine for the Marineland venture.?╟Ñ rank Sennes to Takel [Show to Marineland Summer is just around the I corner; and the man welcom- I ing it with a big smile is Frank I Sennes, operator of the fa- I mous Moulin Rouge. At a press conference yes- terday, Sennes r.evealed plans to take his lavish revue, world- famous as a mecca for tour- ists, and as one of Hollywood?╟╓s major night-out attractions, to | Marineland for the summer. ?╟úWe will use novelty acts, I swimming and diving exhibit tions, water stunts, and jiist about anything along this i line you can name as a special at- traction,?╟Ñ he disclosed. Sennes, in cooperation with I William F. Monahan, vice- president and general manag- er of Marineland, announced [June 9 as the date for the pre- [miere of the ?╟úStarlight Spec- [tacular ?╟÷ Stage and Aqua [Show,?╟Ñ directed by Donn Ar- |den. The natural beauty of Ma- liineland?╟╓s 3000-seat outdoor sea 1 arena, where porpoises and I seals cavort, will be trans- I formed nightly ?╟÷' except Mon- days ?╟÷ through the summer, providing the perfect setting for the sky - stage - and- water show which Sennes pre- dicts will surpass anything with which he has been con- I nected. Marineland, home of ?╟úBub- I bles,?╟Ñ the trained whale, af- fords ?╟úStarlight Spectacular?╟Ñ j an ideal location. . Monahan stressed that ?╟úBub- |bles,?╟Ñ and her fellow whales, ?╟úSquirt?╟Ñ and ?╟úBimbo,?╟Ñ as I well as the porpoises and seals, [would exit the Marineland I stage at 7 p.m., making way [for the Sennes troupe of 60 I singers, dancers, comedians, j .swimmers and musicians, who will face the footlights at 9 | p.m. The venture, uniting two of I Southern California?╟╓s top en- [tertainmbnt mediums, will give [the public the utmost in show- Imanship. ?╟úThis show,?╟Ñ said Sennes, ?╟úwill be international in flavor! and appeal,, inspired by popu-| lar themes and versatility of| surroundings that will enable! us to achieve entertainment | results not possible anywhere | but at Marineland.?╟Ñ at M??S t??lPr0duee Show showman nf hiantle of ?╟únumh have l&zrnst- Marineland?╟╓s superb f- happy pornoi.*M-seat outdoor Sea'a of ?╟ ,rCrTZunVeal? -*&*ZtoZliMm mShtly.exeeptMn Pe glamorously trf day?╟
