    At this time Mrs. Peggy Petrie presented resolutions to the Board from the AAUW and Women's Society of Christian Service, First Methodist Church, requesting suitable sewage System in the Zaugg Tract, water lines in said tract, and that an assistant Building Inspector of the Negro race be employed for this specific district. His Honor told Mrs. Petrie that this matter would be taken under consideration. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of George H. Schwartz for a license for the retail sale of cigarettes and tobacco products at the H & B All Nite Market, 1619 Fremont be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved the application of Chester S. Biele, Dairy Bar, 1525 Fremont for license for one additional slot machine for the second quarter of 1951 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of L. L. Brown, H & B All Nite Market, 1619 Fremont for a Retail Beverage Liquor License for the second quarter of 1951 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved the final map as amended of Beverly Green Tract No. 2 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the request of the Southern Nevada Power Company to install additional transformers at the San Francisco Street Sub-station was presented to the Board for their consideration. Mr. George Rudiak, Representing Dr. Levon Kassabian and his brother was present protesting the installation of these transformer. Mr. L. H. Compton of the Southern Nevada Power Company was also present to answer questions and request the approval of the Board. Thereafter, Commissioner Bunker moved this matter be referred to the City Attorney for an opinion as to the legality of the action taken by the Planning Commission. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the resignation of A. C. Grant from the Civil Service Board be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved that Ralph H. Mohr be appointed to fill the vacancy on the Civil Service Board created by the resignation of Mr. Grant. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved that A. C. Grant and H. E. Hazard be appointed as commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas for a four year term. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved that Commissioner Whipple be appointed as Mayor Pro Tem. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the next regular meetings be held on Wednesday June 13 and 20, 1951 at 3:30 P.M. and after the scheduled meetings have been held the regular meetings of the Board be held the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
