Los Angeles, February 6, 1952 / Mr. Wm. Reinhardt: (CC - Mr. E. C. Renwick Mr. R. L. Adamson) / 1 7334 W M . R-FEB 8 1952 In connection with study of State permits for appropriation of water from wells at Las Vegas, Nevada, Mr. Renwick has raised the question as to whether the so-called "Shop Well”, located in Railroad Company shop grounds near Round House, could be utilized to fill R. R. Co. requirements in event the Las Vegas Water District takes over the existing R. R. Co. transmission mains. The following data on Shop Well and flow through meters is submitted for consideration: (1) Shop Well requires a pump. Measurement on January 8,-195^, indicates a flow of 301 GPM, or 433,400 GPD when pumping into top of water softener with ? 25# pressure at pump, or 65# pressure at pump when pumping against a closed valve. This flow would, no doubt, decrease substantially with continued use since this well had not been used for several months prior to above measurement. (2) Shop Well constructed 1920-21.
