On motion duly made and seconded, C. B. Matthai was elected to office of Assistant Secretary. On motion duly made and seconded, Paul Rigdon was elected to office of Assistant Secretary. On motion duly made and seconded, L. J. Tracy was elected to office of Controller. On motion duly made and seconded, H, A. Toland was elected to office of Auditor. On motion duly made and seconded, W, S. Ure was elected to office of Treasurer. Election of an Executive Committee being next in order, on motion duly made and seconded, Frank Strong as Chairman, E. Murphy were elected members of the Executive Committee, There was submitted, with request from President recommending ratification and approval, copy of letter, dated November 7, 1939, signed by Union Pacific Railroad Company and Las Vegas Land and Water Company by W, M. Jeffers, addressed to City of Los Angeles, City Hall, Los Angeles, California, attention Hop. Ray L. Chesebro, City Attorney, and tendered to said City, waiving the right of said companies to assert any statute of limitations in defense of an action to be brought by the City of Los Angeles against Union Pacific Railroad Company and Las
