I agree.FREEMAN COMPANY puEPd/st? 6/21/5? Jack, Report on Miss Houston contest; 1. Have bton In touch by phone twice with Wes Hooper, President of the Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce* W?? are working on posters and I have sent him several big colored pictures of The Sands and other photographs, as Hooper wants to make the posters up In Houston* 2. I am also working with Wally Sisk and Howard van Eaton, the eo-chairraen of the Miss Houston Pageant, and also with Monty Levine, the press agent on the Pageant. 3* The Pageant takes place July 1It and Miss Houston will probably come to The Sands some time late August or September. }.i . We are getting a Texas flag sent in ahead of the arrival of Miss Houdfcon so she can hoist it onto the Sands flagpole for pictures. 5. The question of plane transportation still has to be settled as Jake assured the Houston people he could get a private plane to bring Miss Houston here. If that doesn?╟╓t work out, we will, probably have to fly her here by commercial lines. This in- volves transportation for herself and her mother or a chaperone. 6. We will try to help get name judges for the contest on July 11+ by contacting some of the studios to see if they have stars travelling around Houston at that time who can stop in and Judge the contest as a promotion. I am working with Mr. Hooper closely on this. 7. Publicity on Jake Freedman?╟╓s invitation is being handled well through the Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce, and other than my side work with Charlie Ivans of the CHR0HICL1, Paul Hoehuli of the PRESS and Bill Roberta of the POST, I would suggest we let Mr. Levine handle the publicity releases on this and just supplement his work without getting in their hair. This promotion appears to be In good shape and I will keep on it, as I believe we can get a lot of good reaction in Houston from It.
