If you'd like to learn any of the casino games, visit the Beginner's Casino located between the card room and the Reef Bar. Instruction is provided as a complimentary service. Lastly, if you'd like a "do-it-yourself" refresher course, look through the gaming guide in each guest room. (And take it home as a souvenir, if you'd like.) JAI ALAI It's the fastest game in town, and one of the most dangerous in the world. It comes from the Basque province of Spain, where it's been played for hundreds of years. Now it's in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, the only hotel in the world with its own jai alai fronton. Pari-mutuel betting, exactly like that on thoroughbred racing, intensifies the excitement of jai alai. As at a race track, you may bet your choice to win, place or show in each of twelve nightly games. Additionally, there are the popular and more rewarding combination bets, which include daily double, quinella and exacta, all of which are fully explained in your jai alai program or by fronton personnel. Also, a brief description of the game is included in the hotel's gaming guide. The fronton provides tiered seating for 2176 spectators, including 136 box seats and 170 deluxe loge seats. The action is nightly, except Monday, throughout the year. First game is at 7:30. Box office opens at noon for loge and box seat reservations. Dial 4351.
