Collectively they have presented a succession of spectacular effects for the Lido de Paris productions which have never before been seen in the history of American theatre. Among their most notable achievements in the first two presentations were the astounding "Living Curtain;" large scale stage pyrotechnics; a three-level waterfall which cascades 6,000 gallons of water a minute over the stage; a reproduction of the Court of Marie Antoinette; a Viennese street scene and a breathtaking water ballet contained in the below stage level swimming pool. Upcoming for the 1961 Lido de Paris revue which will open Wednesday at the resort hotel are several innovations of an even more exciting nature Which will include a ^ & * "Night With Catherine the Great;" "Rhapsodie in Blue," featuring the remarkable Dancing Waters; a "Tyrolean Rain Storm;" the amazing "Falling Staircase" and a pool-full of exciting swimming nymphs appearing in an aqua fantasy. Fraday and Louis-Guerin, along with Donn Arden, supervise the transportation of the entire cast of 70 Continental artists and the integration of their talents within this mammoth production. Two weeks of intensive rehearsals are required to formulate and finalize the show. The responsibility for perfecting this intricate blending of talent, scenery, costumes, music and split-second raising and lowering of the various hydraulicalliy operated stage levels is tremendous.
