T o ta l flo w o f w e ll 0,43 over 4 fe e t r e c t.w e ir— 3.67 second f e e t - - 146*8 miners inches. BIG SPRING. 0.33 over 3 fe e t re c t»w e ir--1 .8 6 second fe e t--7 4 .4 miners inches flo w in g in to s e t t lin g basin and being used fo r domestic and operatin g purposes. LITTLE SPRING: 0,45 over 1,5 fe e t r e c t.w e ir— 1.44 second fe e t-5 7 ,6 miners inches flow in g down Las Vega.* Creek to ranch east o f town. MEASUREMENT OP MIDDLE SPRING AND LITTLE SPRING TOGETHER: 0.38 over 3 fo o t r e c t.w e ir — 2.28 second f e e t — 91,2 miners in ch es, NOTE: The w e ll shows a decrease o f 20.4 miners inches or 228.9 gallon s per minute since March 3. 1927. There is a lso a n o ticea b le d iffe r e n c e in the Big Spring. The measurement on March 3, 1927 was made in forebay w ith in terp o la ted correction s and w ith natural flu c tu a tio n o f spring the d iffe r e n c e is p o s s ib le . At present there is very l i t t l e water going over the sp illw a y in the afternoon and i t appears that there may be a shortage o f water during the summer months. We are now making a survey fo r pipe lin e from l i t t l e spring and as the w e ll is decreasing in flo w i t might be w e ll to secure the a d d itio n a l water which amounts to 646 gallon s per minute. As near as I can determine th is a d d itio n a l water w i l l be the capacity o f the 16" pipe. Inspection o f w e ll in shop ground by Mr.McGrath and m yself shows that the w e ll is sanded up u n t i l . i t w i l l not flo w over water s o ften er and present arrangement o f a ir pipes in th is w e ll has not been a success, fo r when the a ir is turned in to the w e ll, the w e ll throws sand. « Las V e g a s , . , .
