national msmromm ASSOCIATION, inc July 10, 1963 Mr. Al eman Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Al: I am terribly reluctant and apprehensive about writing the following and I hope you will be able to understand my position. Since dictating my first letter, it occurred to me that we might be able to partially make amends if you would be inter- ested in having the Sands become the official headquarters r the Queen Pageant. Please bear in mind, I don't knew whether it would be possible for us to do this, but should you be interested, I would be willing to find out whether or not our commitment to the Sahara necessarily includes the Queen Pageant. Should you tell me that you are interested and should it develop that we could not accept your invitation to the Queens, I trust that you would understand. Also, I trust that you will understand that this would mean providing rooms for the Queen contestants gratis. But be- cause of my mixed feelings about making any proposition to you, I will close by saying that if you think I am way off base in proposing it, just tear this second letter up and drop me a note telling me to forget it.
