Kay 27, 195* will appreciate that under the circumstances there may be matters affecting the title to these properties or rights which third persons may assert under contracts with respect to which the District assumes liability which have not come to the attention of the Law Department of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company. Therefore 1 am not in a position to furnish you with any absolute guarantee as to the matters with respect to which you have requested information. However I can say that as of April 30, 195^, X know of no litigation in which the Water Company is involved which would affect the liability of the District or of any judgments outstanding against the Las Vegas Land and Water Company not satisfied which would have to be assumed by the Water District. There may be claims pending against the Water Company under contracts which may be subject to settlement by the Water Company after the sale date, but no such claims have been referred to the.
