page 2 The greens (C52 Old Orcherd Bent) are being grown in Riverside, California at the nursery farms of Jack Rawley in the amount of 100, 000 square feet. Also purchased is 14,250 square feet of Tif (a Bermuda hybrid) green sod for eighteen greens ?╟÷ the decision to use sod for the greens and tees was to eliminate set back and insure a time schedule for coordination with the opening. The total cost of greens and tees already purchased and being grown ?╟÷ $28,820. Included in the purchase from Rawley is 500 bushels of C52 Old Orcherd Green Collars. A $3,000 deposit has been given to Rawley and the balance will be paid upon installation. The greens will be moved June 1st and the tees are in transit, to arrive in ten days. The plans and specifications for the sprinkler system has been devised by the Head Engineer of Rainbird Corporation, Greg Voetsch, in Glendora, California. The main drains and piping will be supplied by the Johns-Manvilie Company. This system will include all the latest in modern electronic systems, sprinkler heads, valves and will be operated automatically by electronic clocks. A deposit was J given to Bud Kennedy of Turf Equipment Company, manufacturer's supplier, in / the amount of $5,000. Following delivery and installation of the equipment, payment will be made within thirty days. The construction of the greens, fairways and tees will be entirely landscaped by Purdy and Fitzpatrick, licensed contractors and one of the finest firms in the Southwest. Their bid is enclosed. The fence surrounding the property and driving range will be constructed with twelve stalls. It is something new and will be the finest of its kind in this area. Goff carts for the course will be furnished by Bill Stevens of Stevens Appliance Truck Company, Club-Car Division, of Augusta, Georgia, and will be an innova- tion in golf carts used for the first time any place in the world. Warm Springs Country Club has a contract for services of Louis Prima to use his name and also to act as managing director. A national publicity and promotional setup is being organized and proposals have been accepted by three firms, one of which will be decided upon shortly. Julius Gabriele and Associates are drawing up the plans and specifications for the country club and these are nearly completed. A downpayment of $2,500 has been made for their services. Al Parvin of Parvin - Dohrmann Company of Los Angeles is doing the interior design for the country club and these plans are nearing completion. A downpayment of $1,500 has been given to this company. Warm Springs Country Club already has a lengthy honorary membership. Names among those listed are Walt Disney, Bob Hope, Bill Harrah, Pat France, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Danny Thomas, Red Skelton, Jack Carter, Alan King, Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis, Jr., etc. The Club has a commitment from two of the leading hotels in Las Vegas for purchase of blocks of memberships.
