1 9 7 f— "to the Board of Directors our request for a review of the liquidated damages assessed against our Company on specifications 2 & 6 for the Water District. If at all possible we would like to be present at this review so that we may clarify our position on the matter, if necessary, and answer any questions relevant to the situation. Your compliance to our request will be appreciated. Very truly yours, FISHER CONTRACTING CO. By LON R. McDERMOTT Lon McDermott Assistant General Superintendent” Manager Renshaw explained that as yet the James Montgomery office had not requested a review of the matter. The Board agreed that when such a request is received that Fisher Contracting Company be notified so that they can present their position in the matter. Manager Renshaw agreed to advise the Fisher Contracting Company of this decision. DIRECTOR CORNWALL JOINED THE MEETING AT THIS TIME. r~'? - BMI FACILITIES Manager Renshaw advised that/the request of BMI certain additional facilities to the BMI system were included in the improvements being constructed by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, with the understanding that BMI would defray the cost of the additional facilities. On December 8, 1955, Manager Renshaw wrote BMI itemizing the cost of the improvements requested, namely, a fifth pump at the intake, including increasing the transformer capacity to handle it, and provisions for a sixth pump at BMI Pumping Station No. 2, and at the same time requested that arrangements be made to reimburse the District for these facilities. To date no reply has been received from BMI. Upon the recommendation of Director Coulthard, the Directors unanimously agreed that the Manager should write BMI requesting that they reimburse the District for the cost of the additional facilities. COMPLAINT RELATIVE TO METER CHARGE - ANDREW MORAN President Campbell read the following letter from Andrew Moran protesting the meter charge. ’’Dear Sirs February 27, 1956 Upon making an application for water service I was told that there was a $27.00 service charge for installation of water meter. I have been using water since I moved in and water pipes have been connected to this house, therefore, don't mind paying for charge of use of water either by monthly contract or meter rates. Please consider the facts that it is your move to install j a water meter, therefore, it is not my responsibility to pay for it. I moved in this house about the second week of February and don't feel obligated to pay for such serviee. I have a family of five children and don't feel that it is to my benefit paying for installation of such meter. Very truly yours, /s/ ANDREW MORAN”
