Notes of Meeting 5/5/82 Attendees: G. Dale J. Hirschhorn J. Jackson A. Kasha L. Kasha D. Landay RE: Work to Be Done SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS OVERTURE give the overture more personality spice make it more individualistic SHOW CURTAIN try raising house curtain later so we do not see the show curtain as long as at present GET A WIFE -cut some of the "get a wifefls at end -change Mrs, McClane to come from the barn with the eggs (instead of starting in the house) -work on Adam's attitude ?╟÷ he is not feisty enough, with the maid or his brothers -not enough focus - perhaps too much choreography -the second time the boys circle Adam: they should get around him faster -change the orchestration to make it more in character ?╟÷ it's too slick ?╟÷ consider banjoes; atccordian? harmonica; tack piano ?╟÷ even just turning down the violins and tuning up the cellos ?╟÷ firist -orchestration with flavor is Bless Your Beautiful Hide... CROSSOVER -cut Dorcas's joke -add more people after the girls go -fix the underscoring (as above, and include thought of adding a Jew's harp) -change the old lady to Mrs. McClane. If that doesn't work, use Cheryl as the old lady -the light on the town is too flat RESTAURANT -Gino should not throw Pavlosky out of the restaurant -- Adam should be the first saviour -Gino has to be more up tempo -restore Adam sniffing the pot of stew -lights are too bright on the wall ?╟÷ they should be more on the actors -consider redoing the wall covering -consider adding musical sounds from the town ?╟÷ e.g. a tack piano c from the bar next door (on tape)
