FREEMAN COMPANY pub/icists PLANNING 8. From a business viewpoint, it was pointed out that at the Dallas convention, 113 presidents of aircraft, aircraft parts, and allied pro- duct companies were registered ?╟÷ with a total of 600 top officers from 293 industrial firms. In the Las Vegas convention, it is expected this figure will be even higher inasmuch as the World Congress of Flight will actually be the first International exposition of air- craft and its allied products in America. 9. A definite commitment of the rooms to be allot- ted by each hotel and its meeting facilities will be sent to all invitees, and will be printed in all the convention literature. Re- quest for accommodations will then be funneled through the Housing Office of the AFA, who will work with Des Kelly of the Convention Center here to actually assign the requests to specific hotels. The AFA was emphatic in assuring the hotels that the only basis on which accommodations would be assigned to specific hotels would be the suitability or the avail- ability of that hotel?╟╓s rooms and meeting fac- ilities for specific requests ?╟÷ and they pointed out that unless they make an attending member or guest happy, they stand to lose a lot of financial support from even one dis- satisfied party. 10. We suggested that the AFA work through one single man at each hotel, and that Des Kelly keep all hotels posted and oriented on a uniform basis ?╟÷ and gave the name of Archie Loveland as the con- tact man for the Sands. 11. One huge problem discussed was the feeding of 3500 people at one time in the Convention Center auditorium at the big sit-down banquet dinner, Friday, April 16 ?╟÷ the AFA officers said they wanted to present it to the hotels before they consider a catered affair ?╟÷ and they made it clear that a catered affair would be a very difficult proposition. General opinion among the hotels was that the resort hotels should share this responsibility ?╟÷ under strict control and supervision by the AFA people, in order to insure everyone pitching in on the same basis. 9508 WILSHIRE BLVD. ?╟≤ BEVERLY HILLS, CAL. ?╟≤ BRADSHAW 2-8611
