    A letter from the Las Vegas Land & Water company was presented to the Board asking if certain alleys had been dedicated for public purposes so that the said company might lay water lines in said alleys. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that this letter be tabled until such time as City Attorney Austin would be in the City as a legal question was involved in same. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. An offer from Don McGarvie for the sale of a pump to the City of Las Vegas for use at the Woodlawn Cemetery was read to the Board and on motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commis­sioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that said better be handed to the Finance Commissioner and Cemetery Board for consideration and recommendation. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that all slot machine licenses applied for at this time be granted. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. It being brought to the attention of the Board the fact that the term of Mrs C.D. Breeze as a member of the City Planning Commission had expired it was on motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Com­missioner Gilbert moved and carried that Mrs. Breeze be reappointed to serve on the Planning Com­mission. Said term of office being from May 25th, 1940 to May 25th 1944. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. Bids for the purchase of 100 sacks of cement were opened at this time and on motion of Com­missioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the City purchase from the Woitishek Lumber Co 100 sacks of cement at 65c per sack. This being the lowest and best bid received. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that the City purchase a number of American Flags and that the Purchasing Clerk forthwith purchase same. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that S.C.Scott be granted annual leave of absence from June 10th to June 24th inclusive, and that H.B.Adams be granted annual leave from June l7th to July 2nd, 1940. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that the report of Municipal Judge Blad for the month of May be accepted. Fines collected $522.00. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. No further business appearing before the Board at this time on motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that this meeting recess until Monday the 17th day of June, 1940 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. There upon said meeting recessed until Monday the 17th day of June, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. JUNE 17th, 1940. Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas Nevada held on the 17th day of June, 1940 at the hour of seven thirty P.M. Present Mayor Russell, Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti, City Attorney and City Clerk. Minutes of regular meeting of June 4th read and approved as read. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that Warrants Nos. 358 to 362 be allowed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none.
