411 Las Vegas, Nevada June l4, 1949 CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING TO: SHIRLEY BALLINGER, CITY CLERK Las Vegas, Nevada A Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas is hereby called to be held in the Office of the Mayor at the War Memorial Building on the 14th day of June, 1949 at the hour of 4:15 P.M. to consider the following matters: 1. Nevada Biltmore Hotel - gaming and liquor applications and licenses. /s/ E. W. Cragin_____________ E. W. CRAGIN, Mayor NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO: E. W. CRAGIN, Mayor and to WENDELL BUNKER, WILLIAM PECCOLE, ROBERT T. MOORE, REED WHIPPLE, Commissioners, and J. M. MURPHY, City Manager of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to a call this day issued by Mayor Cragin, § Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will be held in the Office of the Mayor, at the War Memorial Building, 5th & Stewart Streets, on June 14, 1949, at the hour of 4:15 P.M. to consider the following matters: 1. Nevada Biltmore Hotel - gaming and liquor applications and licenses. /s/ Shirley Ballinger SHIRLEY BALLINGER, City clerk ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners and City Manager of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, do hereby admit due service of the foregoing Notice of Special Meeting: /s/ E. W. Cragin /s/ Reed Whipple /s/ William Peccole /s/ Wendell Bunker /s/ Robert T. Moore /s/ J. M. Murphy A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners held this lbth day of June, 1949 was called to order at the hour of 4:15 P.M. by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin with the following members present: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple; City Manager J. M. Murphy, City Attorney Howard W. Cannon and City Clerk Shirley Ballinger. At this time His Honor read a letter under date of April 20, 1949 from the Nevada Biltmore Hotel by B. Mahlon Brown, Secretary, heretofore received by t he Board of Commissioners . Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved that inasmuch as the Nevada Biltmore Hotel by its secretary B. Mahlon Brown, had informed this Board that they had disposed of their interest in said Nevada Biltmore Hotel Corporation, the Retail Tavern License No. 791, Retail Cabaret License No. 792, and the Gaming License No. 1421 are hereby revoked. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. NEVADA BILTMORE HOTEL Commissioner Whipple moved that the application of S. D. Hunter, under date of April 22, Gaming Application Denied l949 for a Retail Tavern and gaming license at the Nevada Biltmore Hotel, 600 North Main, be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before this special meeting, Commissioner Bunker moved that this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ATTEST: APPROVED: City Clerk Mayor
