I agree.OV. 9-3447 'Western Floatcraft 4125 Paden Street Riverside, Calif. May 24, 1963 Miss Arlene Williams, The Sands Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. Dear Miss Williams; In the matter of an adjusted bill for the float, I do not feel that an adjustment is required or called for. In view of the fact that I was given only three days to transport a float chassis almost 300 miles, construct it, order materials for it, enter and operate it, it seems to me that any fault, if any, rests in your office. The float was according to sketch, it had all objects on it as shown in the sketch, it was longer actually than stipulated. The fact that the float had a mechanical failure and had to be towed is completely out of my control, this has happened many times to floats in the Helldorado, even in the Pasadena Rose Parade, and further, no guarantee against mechanical failure is made or inferred in the contract I have with you. A1 was in need of a float, and asked if I could help, I did the very best I could on such short notice, and knocked myself out getting the float ready, and I do not relish being chewed out about it, It went through the Parade and I insist on being paid for it. The contract states the balance is due and payable at the Parade line-up, the float was accepted and allowed to proceed through the Parade, if any disatisfaction was felt, it should have been voiced at that time and the float not allowed to go through the Parade, however, it did go through and therefor I want to be paid.
